It was another busy running weekend for RV members, we had runners parkrunning on Saturday and then a couple of main events on Sunday. The first big running event that RV members had trained hard for was Reading half marathon and the Green Park Challenge. Both are great events that finishes with over 15,000 people cheering you into the stadium and over the finish line, it makes you feel like you are in the Olympics.
Eastleigh 10k is in it's 33rd year and it is a brilliant course, one hill, one downhill and the rest fast and flat. We had 37 RV runners in this local event and for some it was their first 10k. We had 3 RV runners who got their first under the hour 10k time so bottles of bubbly have now been received courtesy of the Tribe Foundation.
The support was incredible, once every RV member had finished they made their way to the new RV flag where we all cheered and saw all of our runners in. It gives everyone such a buzz to see us all cheering and shouting words of encouragement, Annie from Hardley Runners was given an extra RV cheer as she came in, such an inspirational woman! Lots of happy faces and sense of achievement as the nerves from earlier on in the day had soon disappeared.
