WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO TAKE UP RUNNING?
I had tried running a few times before on my own, I had even entered a 5km race but I always felt like it was too hard so I walked and then felt like a failure
HOW HAS A COACHED GROUP IMPROVED YOUR RUNNING?
Since running with Verity I have built up my fitness gradually so that now when I run I don't feel like I am going to die! With Verity's coaching, my running technique is better so I can go further.
HAVE YOU TAKEN PART IN ANY ORGANISED RUNS?
Six months after starting the beginner's course I completed a 10 mile race and felt amazing. Having the group with me made entering a race so much less intimidating and I have made lots of running friends that help to keep me going each week....even when it is freezing!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO ANYONE WHO WAS THINKING OF DOING THE BEGINNER'S COURSE?
Just go for it, it is hard to start off with but trust me once you've got it you will have running forever and there is nothing more satisfying than being able to run wherever you are, because running only involves putting on your shoes and stepping outside for a run. Best thing I ever did!
