We did it! What a weekend of running :)

What an amazing weekend at the Great South Run, we had runners completing the 5k on the Saturday morning, all of which achieved new PB's and are excited at the thought of taking on the 10 miles next year.  Then Sunday morning arrived after many weeks of training and organising and we started early, arriving by coach in Southsea at 8am to beat the crowds.  It was very quiet and a bit chilly so we sought shelter in the local Costa to keep warm.  As the crowds starting gathering there was a real buzz around Southsea common as we all tried to keep calm and soak up the atmosphere.  There were 40 RunVerity runners who completed the run yesterday, 90% of these runners have completed the RunVerity beginner's course some time in the last two years, a couple of runners have completed it within the last 6 months.  We also had amazing support from the 5k runners from Saturday and my long suffering non running husband. All of the RunVerity members finished strong with a big sprint finish when they saw us at the end with our banner and cheers of encouragement.  There were smiles all around with this massive sense of achievement everyone said they really enjoyed it and have even signed up to do it again next year.

What is so unique about RunVerity, you are coached, guided and supported, not just by me as a running coach but also by everyone who is a member of RunVerity. As a coached running group we all train together, and yesterday our first runner came in with a time of 69 mins and our final runners finished in over 2 hours, we are a mixed ability running group, which means that it doesn't matter how fast or slow you run, nobody ever gets left behind. You run in our groups at your pace and everyone is supported, whether you run the whole distance or if you run/walk. We have back markers and we have running buddies, everyone is supported whether you have just finished the beginner's course or if you have been running with me for 2 years.  I have a few more places left on the next beginner's course, fancy seeing if you could run?
